Don’t get me wrong, it looks beautiful and all but google maps sucks on an iPad. There is nothing more infuriating than loosing functionality on an iOS device. I am not asking for all that non-Jobsian flash, just some basic rerouting features like I have when I use maps on my laptop. Why does Google think it can find the best way home when I am the one on the hamster week of rush hour traffic everyday. Are the street maps of Boston even accurate?
Seriously, click, drag, reroute. That is all I want.
Thank you for blogging about this problem!!! I totally agree. Google Maps on iPad lacks so many critical features (such as alternate routing functionality) from the Google Maps laptop edition that it’s a chore to use and I usually don’t even bother. I have to go start up my laptop instead. Sincerely… frustrated iPad user/driver in Tennessee.
